Turkey's HDP elects new leaders
A photo taken in Ankara on February 12, 2018 shows Turkish pro-government day-to-day newspaper Gunes appearing with a headline on its front page that reads 'He did not feel uncomfortable at all' as the daily accuses Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and its deputy chairperson Engin Altay of taking part in the third ordinary congress of the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) on February 11. The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation on February 12 into Pervin Buldan, newly elected co-chair of the HDP, and Sirri Sureyya Onder, MP of the HDP, over their statements during the congress, the pro-government media reported.
