Rose Monday Parade in Dusseldorf, Germany
In Düsseldorf, Germany, on February 12th 2018, the calendar of Carnival events features no fewer than 300 Carnival shows, balls, anniversaries, receptions and costume parties. The motto this season is ‘Jeck erst recht’ (Carnival more than ever). The celebrations culminate in the Rose Monday Parade. More than 30 music ensembles and 5,000 participants join the procession through the city. Elaborately built and decorated floats address cultural and political issues and can be satirical, hilarious and even controversial.
