A Girl from Mogadishu - filming in Dublin
Ifrah Ahmed during an on set photo call, which has just commenced in Dublin for the Pembridge Pictures and Umedia production of ‘A Girl from Mogadishu’ – a true story based on the testimony of her life. Born into a refugee camp in war-torn Somalia, Ifrah was trafficked to Ireland as a teenager. Recounting her traumatic childhood experiences of Female Genital Mutilation / Cutting (FGM/C) when applying for refugee status, she was again traumatized and decided to devote her life to the eradication of the practice. Ifrah emerged as one of the world’s foremost international activists against Gender Based Violence, after she took her campaign all the way to the President of Ireland and finally to the European Parliament and United Nations. On Monday, February 26, 2018, in The Westin Hotel, Dublin, Ireland. (Photo by Artur Widak/NurPhoto)
