Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal
Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal. One of the largest stupas in the world, located in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal on the ancient trade route from Tibet. This Buddist Stupa is surrounded from Tibetans, as they developed around Boudha when they left Tibet. Since 1979 Bouddha Stupa is in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. In 2015 the Stupa had severe damages from the earthquake that hit Nepal. (Photo by Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto)
