Fort Marlborough, one of the strongest British forts in indonesia

A tourist walks across the bridge in back of the gate of Fort Marlboroug. Fort Marlborough is an English fort located in Bengkulu, Sumatera, Indonesia. Fort Marlborough was built between 1713-1719 by Governor Joseph Collett as a defensive fort for the British East India Company's Residency there. It was one of the strongest British forts in the eastern region, second only to Fort St. George in Madras, India. (Photo by Eddy Purwanto/NurPhoto)
