A wreath-laying ceremony was held today by the Indian police for their comrade, killed in a nearly 48-hour gun battle with militants, in the dense Kupwara forest in north Kashmir. Five Indian armed forces and five militants have been killed in a gun battle in northern Kashmirs Kupwara district . The gun battle started on Tuesday after rebels opened fire on Indian government forces in the forest area of Halmathpora of Kupwara district, one of the nearest villages before the Line of Control the ceasefire line or Line of Control (LoC) that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan, police said.
