54th anniversary military coup

Exactly 54 years ago, a military coup deposed President-elect Joao Goulart and established a dictatorship that lasted 21 years. This Saturday, 31, march 2018, demonstratorsmet on Avenida Paulista in Sao Paulo to celebrate the anniversary of the moment. Dressed in green and yellow and wrapped in Brazilian flags, people clamored for military intervention and "liberation of Brazil from Communism." In the act, a car of sound animated the demonstrators with speeches and slogans. Some protesters also carried signs saying the government of President Michel Temer and also extolling the Armed Forces. 'There is only one way out: military intervention,' was one of the words most voiced by interventionist demonstrators. (Photo by Cris Faga/NurPhoto)
