Three Indian military forces and four Kashmiri Muslim civilian were also killed and 50 others were wounded as local residents clashed with Indian forces, the officer said. The news of the militants' killings triggered civilian protests. Clashes between Indian forces and Kashmiri youth were going on at several places in the disputed Himalayan region even as pro-independence leaders called for two-day shutdown against the killings.
