The 39-year-old played for FC Arges Pitesti, Dinamo Bucuresti, Petrolul Ploiesti, ASA Targu Mures in Romania, Internazionale Milano, Verona, Parma, Juventus, Cesena, Fiorentina (Italy), Ajaccio(France), Chelsea(England) and Pune City(India), but is best remembered for scoring 54 goals in 112 appearances for Fiorentina, as well he is the recordmen for the Romanian National Football team, with 35 scores (the same as Gheorghe Hagi) in 77 matches.
