Refugees At Idomeni
Refugees staying the night in Idomeni, Greece. The borderline between Greece-FYROM (Macedonia). Refugees from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and the wider Middle East area and Africa as well are stuck on the rails connecting the two countries, as they pass illegally to FYROM to continue their journey to the Northern European countries. Old people, disabled, children or pregnant women are some of the vulnerable people on this trip. In 2015 and 2016 was the peak for the number of refugees and migrants passing through Greece. The makeshift camp of Idomeni had a record number of nearly 15.000 people stuck in the borderline. (Photo by Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto)
