Las Mayas - Spanish Tradition

Five "Mayas" between 7 and 11 years old have welcomed the resurgence of Nature in spring after the winter lethargy, in their respective altars decorated with flowers and plants. The celebration of "Las Mayas" takes place, every May 2 in the streets of Colmenar Viejo, Madrid, and dates back to the Middle Ages, having a pagan origin.
