The Day of Ashura, one of the most important days for Shia

Men rehearse march past with drums of Tazieh, ritual theater of the day of Ashura, in the village near Isfahan, Iran. Day of Ashura is commemoration of death of Imam Hussein, first Imam of Shia Muslims. During Ashura men perform theatrical performance Tazieh, including cutting their body by metal chains and blades. Tazieh requires long preparation with own special rituals and customs
