Thessaloniki refugee camp with makeshift tents

Diavata refugee camp in Thessaloniki,Greece. Former Anagnostopoulou military camp is hosting since 2016 refugees. There are organized facilities but due to an increase of a wave of refugees and migrants arriving in Greece the camp runs out of capacity so refugees are living in tents reminding Idomeni. Pictures are in May 2018 after a storm showing the deteriorating conditions in the camp that is full of mud. Most of the newcomers are from Kurdish areas that were attacked by Turkey. People in the camp complained about luck of food, water and place to sleep. (Photo by Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto)
