Rome prepares to open beach on river Tiber

Sunbeds and parasols are prepared for visitors of the 'Tiberis' beach along the Tiber river, on its opening day, in Rome, Italy, 04 August 2018. The beach, for which the idea was inspired by public artificial beaches in other European metropolises and planned back in 2017, offers a beach-like sand area and grass strips along the car-free river banks of the Tiber in Rome. It is meant as an easy to reach site for Romans and tourist to enjoy the feeling of beach holidays and to back the city's older bathing establishments from the 1960s.
