Grand Prismatic Spring Yellowstone

The Grand Prismatic Spring is seen in the Midway Geyser Basin, Yellowstone National Park, Teton County, Wyoming, United States on July 11, 2018. It is the largest hot spring in the United States and third largest in the world. The deep blue color is from the extreme heat that makes that water sterile. The vivid green to red colors in the spring are the result of microbial mats around the edges of the mineral-rich water. (Photo by Patrick Gorski/NurPhoto)
