Flood In Kerala

Rain clouds loom in the distance over the city of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), Kerala, India during the monsoon season on July 09, 2018. Heavy rain resulted in over 800,000 people being displaced and more than 373 people being killed in what has been called the worst flooding in Kerala in nearly a century. All 14 districts of the state were placed on high alert and thirty-five out of the forty-two dams within the state were opened for the first time in history. All five overflow gates of the Idukki Dam were opened at the same time, for the first time in 26 years. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
