Demonstration Against The Fossil Fuel Industry In Groningen
People protest in Groningen, Netherlands on August 28, 2018 against the fossil fuel industry. Besides the Code Rood civil disobedience action, a completely legal demonstration against the gas extraction takes place on August 28th, organized by local groups. Hundreds of people gathered in Delfzijl to walk to the NAM location in Farmsum. As earthquakes become more intense and more frequent in the north of the Netherlands, there is mounting pressure on the government to reduce the amount of gas being extracted there.
