Wedding gowns of al-Ashi family

Mannequins display wedding gowns designed by the al-Ashi family at their atelier in Gaza City . The family started their own clothing line -wedding dresses and evening gowns- due to the difficulties and cost of smuggling and importing items into the Gaza Strip, either through legitimate crossings controlled by Israel to the north and east and Egypt in the south or through smuggling tunnels dug under their southern border with Egypt and when the Egyptian border is closed.
