Ganesh Chaturthi Festival 2018 In Allahabad
An Indian hindu boy dressed as hindu god Shiva , celebrates during the immersion procession of a huge idol of Elephant headed hindu God Ganesha in a pond near Ganges River in Allahabad on September 23 , 2018 . Ganesha chaturthi ( birthday of lord Ganesha) is a 10 days prestigious festival . According to Hindu mythology various rituals have been followed in these 10 days of celebration. One of the other interesting historical reason behind this celebration is given by our great freedom fighters as well , lokmanya balgangadhar tilak started this celebration when they were fighting for our country and their gathering got banned by Britishers and lokmanya came up with the solution and placed an Idol of Ganesha which helped them to gather , we too follow that same custom and tradition for a beautiful gathering which results in joy and happiness The Holy festival ends on the tenth day After start, the Lord Ganesha idol carried in a public procession with music and group chanting, then immersed in a nearby body of water such as a river or ocean there after the organic clay idol dissolves and Ganesha is believed to return to mount kailash to parvati and shiva.
