Karwa Chauth festival In Allahabad
Indian married Hindu women perform rituals during the Karwa Chauth festival at Ram temple in Allahabad on October 27,2018 . Karwa Chauth is a one-day festival of love celebrated by Hindu women in North India, The fast is observed for safety and longevity of their husband in the states of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Indian Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. The festival falls on the fourth day after the full moon, in the Hindu lunisolar calendar month of Kartik. Sometimes, unmarried women observe the fast without water and food for their fiancés or desired husband. The Karwa Chauth makes really powerful bond between spouse as history confirmed it so lets looked at some facts. Now if we look at it’s history than we will find that Queen Veervati used Karwa Chauth for saving her husband life The pooja preparations start a day in advance. Married women buy the shringaar or the traditional ornamentation and the other pooja items like the karwa, matthi, heena etc. An elderly lady or the pujarin narrates the legend of Karwa Chauth. Once the moon rises, the women see its reflection in a thali of water, or through a dupatta or a sieve. They offer water and other food items to the moon and seek blessings.
