The protest was against Ontario Premiere First Doug Ford and his government that announced that will be rolling back the minimum wage which was supposed to be raised to $15/hour. On January 1st 2019, the minimum wage would have increased to $14.10, but the government plans to stop this as well as to eliminate 2 paid sick days and new fairer scheduling rights.
