Abdul Kalam National Memorial In India
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam National Memorial in Peikarumbu, Rameswaram ,Tamil Nadu, India. The memorial is dedicated to the former President of India Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam and where his mortal remains were laid to rest. The memorial has become a major tourist attraction with a record 46,500 people visiting the memorial on a single day on October 1, a Sunday on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi. The memorial figured on top, probably next to the Sri Ramanathaswamy temple in the itinerary of the pilgrims and tourists and during the Sabarimala festival season in November and December, the visitors include a large number of Ayappa devotees as well.
