A model performs creations of Fashion Designer Yumi Katsura for BEYOND EAST &WEST collection in Tokyo on February 20, 2018. This event is designed to communicate Japan’s innovative and creative craftsmanship incorporated in Western clothing and to raise awareness of Japanese culture and history. Fashion Designer Yumi Katsura, head of Yumi Katsura International Co., Ltd. It shows, in a floor show style, kimonos and dresses fully created by maximizing traditional Japanese craftsmanship skills, along with dresses and kimonos created with these techniques. The State Guest House, Akasaka Palace, where the show take place, was originally built as the official residence of the Crown Prince in 1909 at the former site of the Edo residence of the Tokugawa family of Kii province.
