Sanitation Problems In Indonesia
Citizen defecates on the river at Cikarang regency, West Java on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Based on the UNICEF report, around 88 percent of child deaths from diarrhea in Indonesia are caused by sanitation and poor hygiene behavior, such as open defecation and the use of unsafe water source. Even according to the WHO report in 2015, Indonesia was at the 2nd ranked as the country contributing open defecation in the world after India, with a total of 32 milion people defecating carelessly, such as in grasses, bushes, or rivers.
