Flooding In Cantabria
Several trucks of the UME (military emergency unit) moved to Cantabria leave Torrelavega to help in the services caused by the floods in Cantabria, Spain, because of the rain on 25 January 2019. A total of 61 municipalities, most of them located in the riverbank areas of the community of Cantabria have been affected by flooding caused by heavy rains in recent hours, which have generated a situation "very complicated" , especially in the basins of the rivers Saja and Besaya as well as in Caranceja or Virgen de la Peña.This forced to move to the area a unit of the UME (Military Emergency Unit) composed of more than 200 men to help in the work of evacuation, cleaning or transfer.
