Poland will review impact of Sunday retail trade ban
Biedronka store belonging the largest discount supermarket chain in Poland is seen in Gdynia, Poland on 8 February 2019 Government plans to review trade ban conditions. Over 14,000 small stores have disappeared from the market after the ban on Sunday trading introduced by the populist law and Justice (PiS) government. Trade ban, contrary to the government's expectations, increased the revenues of large chain stores and malls. Poland reduced the number of trade Sundays to just one per month, the last Sunday of the month. (Photo by Michal Fludra/NurPhoto)
