Food Crisis In Turkey
As the fruit and vegetable prices rose in Turkey, the government set up tents to sell cheaper products in order to solve the issue. From the first day, the queues were very long in front of the tents in Istanbul, Turkey, on 12 February 2019. However, the sales are limited to 3 kilos per person. It is thought that this food crisis in the agricultural country is caused by the high inflation rates. Purchasing power is decreased due to the economic imbalance. But the government of Turkey states that there isn't a crisis and that there is an attack against Turkey by externel forces. (Photo by Erhan Demirtas/NurPhoto)
