The 'Amassada' Zone To Defend Waits For Its Eviction In St-Pierre-et-Melvieu (Aveyron)
More than 1000 windmills should be buit in Aveyron in the next 5 years. Since four years, people fight against the construction of a giant transformer for the 'electric highway Marocco-Sweden' on the territory of St-Pierre-et-Melvieu in Aveyron, south-west of France. Six hectares of fields will be used for this transformer. They call this ZAD (Zone to Defend) the 'Amassada' (which means Assembly in occitan). It seems that police will evict them from the ZAD in the next few days. St-Pierre-et-Melvieu. Aveyron. France. February 10th 2019. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
