Copra Prices Down In Sigi, Indonesia

Sigi, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia (February 16, 2019) - Farmers gouge coconuts into copra in Pandere Village, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, Saturday, February 16, 2019. Coconut farmers in the region complain of copra prices at the merchant level collectors that continue to decline. The current price is only around IDR 10,000 ($ 0.6) per kilogram, even though previously it was valued at IDR 15,000 ($ 1) per kilogram. Sigi Regency contributes around 30 percent of total copra production in Central Sulawesi. Indonesia's copra commodity exports in the first semester of 2018 rose 13.02 percent to $ 185.98 million.
