HIV Patient In Indonesia

AR (32 years old), a sufferer of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) took a thesis exam at a private college in Palu, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, Wednesday, February 20, 2019. AR infected with HIV due to being inherited from their parents since birth was successful in achieving a Bachelor of Communication Science with Cum Laude predicate after maintaining their thesis entitled Interpersonal Communication Between People with HIV-AIDS in the Sampesuvuku Palu Peer Support Group in front of the examiners. AR said that suffering from HIV does not mean that all life expectancies must be buried. He wanted to prove and at the same time motivate other people with HIV to continue to strive and excel in the field of education. The Ministry of Health said, the problem of HIV and AIDS became a health challenge in Indonesia. Since it was first discovered until June 2018, HIV / AIDS has been reported by 433 (84.2%) from 514 districts / cities in 34 provinces in Indonesia. The cumulative number of HIV infections reported up to June 2018 was 301,959 people (47%) from the estimated number of people with HIV / AIDS in 2018 as many as 640,443 people and most were found in the age group 25-49 years and 20-24 years. The number of reported HIV cases continues to increase every year, while the number of AIDS is relatively stable. This shows the success that more and more people with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA) know their status while still in the phase of infection (HIV positive) and have not entered the stage of AIDS.
