The Bauls are an ancient group of wandering minstrels from Bengal, who believe in simplicity in life and love and it is essentially an oral tradition. They are often identified by their distinctive clothes and musical instruments. In 2005, the Baul tradition was included in the list of "Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO. Their music has a deep sense of mysticism, a longing for oneness with the divine.A workshop was organized in Kolkata, India to promote and educate about Baul music ,tradition, culture and origin.
