Inter-union And Inter-professional Demonstration In Nantes
The National Education staff were particularly mobilized to protest the Loi Blanquer ("school of trust") in Nantes, France, on March 19, 2019. Between 3,000 and 5,000 people marched in the city center of Nantes following the national appeal of several unions (CGT, Solidarity, FSU, FO, MNL and UNEF) to strike and to mobilize in any France during interprofessional events bringing together public and private employees, students, retirees and the unemployed to put pressure on the government when just ended the Great Debate. The unions demand, among other things, the revaluation of the SMIC of 20% as well as a more equitable tax policy. This day was an opportunity for unions to amplify the rapprochement with the movement of yellow vests (gilets jaunes)initiated on February 5 during a first day of joint action. The latter were finally few in the procession. (Photo by Estelle Ruiz/NurPhoto)
