Ultra Low Emission Zone In Central London

A sign for the recently-introduced Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) stands at Marble Arch in London, England, on April 15, 2019. The ULEZ came into force on April 8 and charges drivers and riders of vehicles that fail to meet the zone's emission standards 12.50 a day to enter the area of central London covered by the Congestion Charging Zone (on top of the 11.50 congestion charge). Non-compliant heavy vehicles must pay a ULEZ charge of 100 a day. The zone is set to be expanded in 2021 to cover all of the significantly-larger area within the North and South Circular ring roads in an effort to even further reduce air pollution in the city.
