Golden Lady Monument In Luxembourg City

The Gëlle Fra translated in Luxembourgish as the Golden Lady officially the Monument of Remembrance, a war monument in Luxembourg City commemorating the thousands Luxembourgers volunteers who served in the armed forces of the Allied Powers in World War 1 WWI, World War 2 WWII and Korean War. The sculpture with the gold statue of Nike holding the laurel wreath atop an obelisk is located at the Constitution Square on the Ville Haute quarter in the center of Luxembourg City. The golden lady represents the ancient Greek goddess Nike who is a personification for victory, the equivalent Roman Victoria. (Photo by Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto)
