Netherlands: Mandatory Energy Label for Selling Homes
New isolation material is being installed in a house on February 16, 2015 in Voorschoten, Netherlands. In January home owners received a letter from the ministry of home affairs with information on the new energy guidelines for homes. Before owners can put their house for sale they are required to have a certified energy label. Home owners can be fined up to 400 Euros if they don’t have an energy label. Earlier home owners in The Netherlands complained about the costs acquiring the mandatory latel. (Photo by Jaap Arriens/NurPhoto)
