Dilip Kumar , aged 35 years, suffering from oral cancer , waits for his treatment in Kamla Nehru cancer hospital , following on the World No Tobacco Day , in Allahabad on May 31 , 2019 . From 19.4 % in 2000, prevalence of smoking tobacco in India dropped down to 11.5 % in 2005 , according to WHO report . The report projected theprevalence to drop down further to 9.8 % by 2020 and 8.5% by 2025. Indian has a large population of chewing tobacco users , thus posing additional burden .
