Salt Lake In Central Anatolia In Turkey

People visit the Salt Lake, photo taken 01.06.2019 in Turkey. Salt Lake is the second largest lake in Turkey, located about 56 km northwest of the city of Aksaray. It has been declared a protected area by UNESCO. Currently the biggest water course that feeds Tuz Lake is the domestic, industrial and agricultural sewerage system of Konya coming through a channel from hundreds of kilometers. Discharging sewage water directly to Tuz Lake without using any treatment causes pollution in the Salinas which provide 80% of Turkeys salt demand and affects the most important flamingo breeding colonies in Turkey (Photo by Emrah Oprukcu/NurPhoto)
