Hunger Strike Workers In Venezuela

33 workers from the Orinoco Oil Belt, stationed in the La Moneda plaza of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), in Caracas, on 3 June 2019, are on the fourth consecutive day without consuming food, protesting the payment of their wage demands. The workers hope that Nicolás Maduro will give him answers about the cancellation of his labor liabilities, assure that no entity or agency has approached the place to pay attention to him. Several of the people who are participating in the strike have suffered dizziness and fainting. Last Thursday, May 30, 50 workers began a hunger strike in the center of Caracas, denouncing that the "government confiscated 5,200 million dollars from transnational corporations that would be paid to 9640 workers." Several of the protesters have stopped their protest, due to their delicate state of health, only 33 remain in place. (Photo by Ramses Mattey/NurPhoto)
