The Chernobyl Series (HBO) , which depicts the Chernobyl nuclear power disaster's aftermath, including the clean-up operation and subsequent inquiry, drives boom in tourists travelling to see the site of nuclear disaster. Tour agencies have reported up to a 40 per cent increase in bookings since the miniseries aired May 2019. On 2019 Ukraine marked the 33rd anniversary of Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
