All about Sand and Stone in Sylhet, Bangladesh

A small child was taking only rice since his parents couldn't afford anything for his lunch at the stone extraction site in Jaflong, Sylhet, Bangladesh on February 28, 2015. Sylhet is a very resourceful place of Bangladesh in minerals. Besides, being gas rich it is also holds the country's greatest stone, sand preserver. During the winter people from all over the country come to Sylhet, mostly in Companiganj and Jaflong for extracting stone. Mostly these people works as daily labor and few local mighty people controls the extraction. Everyday huge amount of stone and sand is being extracted from these places which worth more than million. And the mighty locals continue getting rich whereas the daily labor remain poor. Another deadly things happening here due to extraction of stone is, geological feature of these areas are changing rapidly. In near future which will turn into a devastating result as the experts say. Government needs to immediately stop these extraction and find alternative living means for the daily labors.
