Indonesian Papuan Protest Against Racial Discrimination

Papuan students and activists protest in Central Jakarta, Indonesia on August 28, 2019. They demanded that the government immediately solve and give solution to discrimination case against Papuan, which was triggered by several racial tragedies in Semarang and Surabaya. The protesters also demanded that the government immediately activates internet connection in Papua, which has been temporary closure due to riots that broke out in Manokwari, where protesters set fire to the Regional House of Representatives building last week. They paint their face and body with "Morning Star" flag ornaments as the symbol of free Papua movement. (Photo by Mas Agung Wilis/NurPhoto)
