Poland Prepares To Commemorate The 80th Of WW2 Beginning
A commemorative to German soldiers who died during 1939-1945, seen in Krakow's Rakowicki Cemetery, a few days before the 80th anniversary of the beginning WW2. On September 1, 1939, German forces invaded Poland from the north, south, and west the morning after the Gleiwitz incident. Slovak military forces advanced alongside the Germans in northern Slovakia. Two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany, beginning World War II. On September 17, Soviet troops invaded Poland from the east.
