Amazon Forest Fire
PARA, BRAZIL, 01/09/2019 - Lean cows try to feed on the little grass left on a small property inside the rural settlement PDS Brasília in Altamira, in the south of Para. Every year PDS Brasilia is invaded by criminal burnings that burn property and threaten animals. Without pasture, milk production - one of the only sources of income for the settlers - was disrupted in the settlement. Smallholders are now waiting for rain to arrive to make the land fertile again. This year Altamira was the city with biggest rates of deforestation and burnings in Brazil (Photo by Gustavo Basso/NurPhoto)
