A huge percentage of stone is being supplied to all over the Bangladesh from Sylhet. Mainly Bholagonj and Jaflong are two places from where these stones are collected. Besides, lots of stones are being imported by various importer as well to meet the demand. To meet the demand of stone a lot of stone crashing plants are also established in and around Bholagonj and Jaflong. Except the Monsoon all over the year these stone crashing plants remain busy where hundreds of workers works to earn their livelihood. Crashing Plant owners earns a handsome amount of money but do not ensure the safety and other basic essentials for the workers. Besides, these workers are low paid. Most of the workers earns around Taka 200 to Taka 300 ($2.5-$5). Young workers and female workers gets Taka 200 ($2.5) whereas male workers get Taka 300 ($4).
