Novitiation Ceremony In Myanmar
A girl dresses like Bagan princess waits before taking part in a parade during a Novitiation ceremony in Magway, central region of Myanmar on 14 November 2019. Novitiation ceremony is one of the most important religious events for Buddhist people. It is a ceremony for young boys, usually under 20 years old to do their services to Buddhism and live the life of a monk for a week or longer. At the same time, young girls ( usually a sister of the novice-to-be ) also have ear-piercing ceremony. (Photo by Shwe Paw Mya Tin/NurPhoto)
