Located in the foothills of the snow-capped Zabarwan mountainous range, Siraj Bagh is one of Asia's largest tulip gardens. Overlooking the world famous Dal Lake in Srinagar, After a weeklong incessant rains caused panic in the Kashmir valley that is still recovering from last years deadly flooding in September, the garden is thrown open to both foreign and domestic tourists in the beginning of the spring season. Spread across an area of 12 acres, the garden has become a major attraction for the visitors. The states tourism department is hoping the tulip show will attract visitors back to the region after poor weather at the start of the tourist season prompted many to cancel.
