Activists Stage 'Climate Strike' Demonstration In Central London
A 7-metre-high 'Big Baby' blimp flies in Parliament Square during the latest schoolchildren-led 'climate strike' demonstration in London, England, on November 29, 2019. The blimp was organised by the Population Matters charity, intended to highlight the role of population and family size in addressing the climate crisis. Today's climate strike demonstration comes near the end of a year in which climate activism has taken centre stage in cities around the world, spearheaded both by the Greta Thunberg-inspired 'Fridays For Future' striker movement and by the activists of the equally-global Extinction Rebellion. Next week sees the two-week COP25 UN Climate Change Conference begin in Madrid. (Photo by David Cliff/NurPhoto)
