Onion Price Rise In India
A fresh vegetables market in Gurugram area, on the outskirts of Delhi, India (on 03 December 2019.) As India is faces a massive economic slowdown, Onion, a staple of Indian cooking, is slowly becoming out of reach of many Indians. It has hit a Rs 120 ($1.67) per Kilogram mark in Delhi-NCR region this week. The country has been suffering from onion shortage tripling the price in recent months. The Indian government has banned exports of onion and cracked down on hoarders in recent days.
