Protest In Rome Against The Persecution Of Christians In Ethiopia
Ethiopians of the Christian Orthodox Church of Tewahedo in Italy are calling for an end to the persecution of Christians in Ethiopia during a protest in Piazza Montecitorio on 6 December 2019 According to an association of the American-Ethiopian diaspora, since July 2018 about thirty Orthodox churches have been burned. Priests and civilians were killed and forcibly displaced. These acts have occurred in different parts of the country and have increased the sense of insecurity among Orthodox Christians, especially in rural areas where Muslims predominate.
