Women's Protest In Istanbul

On December 8, 2019, women gathered in Istanbul for a demonstration inspired by the recent Las Tesis protests in Chile. The protest began with the Turkish translation of the lyrics, but the police did not allow the crowd to perform with the original Spanish lyrics, stating that the demonstration is against the law. Riot police attacked the crowd and several people have been taken under custody. Women resisted the police, continued to march and chanted slogans such as "Don't stop women, stop the femicides!".
